Holly & Kieran’s scorching summer wedding in their back garden, Yorkshire
When Holly and Kieran invited us to do their back garden wedding photography in Yorkshire, we were not expecting a back garden like this. The garden looked amazing, everywhere we turned there were beautiful home grown, colourful flowers and lush green bushes. The outdoor ceremony showcased rows of simple yet stylish wooden benches and white flowering potted plants. A natural tree branch entwined arch was positioned to the head of the aisle and rested against the stunning back-drop of the sun kissed, rolling yorkshire hills. To one side of the garden, a stretch marquee erected by bowland marquees, elegantly reached over three tiers of garden, sheltering wooden banquet tables, flowering potted plants and home made honey jar favours. Festoon lights illuminated the patio and a hand crafted crate bar stood alongside the checkered dance floor. This wasn’t your average back garden.
Super chilled
Everything about Holly and Kieran’s wedding was relaxed. From the bridal preparations through into the evening celebrations, the pair were super chilled. The elegant celebrant led a joyful and romantic ceremony in which the couple read personalised vows to one another and the full party joined in a singsong to some of their favourite songs. The newlyweds were welcomed back down the aisle to a runway of colourful confetti and as the scorching summer sun beamed down on the patio, the Gimbals Restaurant dished out the yummy canapes. The hilarious wedding speeches and the wedding meal took place under the shade of the stretch marquee and the outdoor air helped to keep the relaxed and informal party vibe flowing throughout.
Soaking in the last of the summer rays
As the dazzling summer sun slipped into golden hour we snook off along the lane to a nearby field with the newlyweds to soak in the last of the summer rays and capture some couples photographs. We were spoilt for choice with photo opportunity locations and, though we didn’t, we could have quite easily spent the next hour or so photographing the pair until the sun finally set. As we looped back through the field and along the lane to their back garden wedding venue, we heard the first beats of music start up and we proceeded to party the night away under the open air, festoon lit, dancefloor with their incredible wedding band Truly Medley Deeply.
