Giving back to nature
As wedding photographers, travel is inevitably part of the job. We love photographing weddings across the UK and further afield, but we also know that getting from one place to another creates a carbon footprint.
So, in a small effort to give something back, we plant a tree for every wedding photography booking we take, supporting Trees for Life and their mission to rewild the Scottish Highlands.
We’re not claiming to have single-handedly saved the planet, and this definitely isn’t a shiny greenwashing badge. It’s just one small, positive thing we can do while continuing to photograph weddings in lots of lovely places.

Wee Wedding Grove
The trees will be planted alongside other native trees and in time, will help to restore the Caledonian Forest and along with it, the wildlife there such as the red squirrel, black grouse, capercaille, pine marten and the golden eagle. We spend much of our free time hiking and exploring the wild open spaces that Scotland and the UK has to offer, so this is an exciting way for us to give back to the environment that we so thoroughly enjoy and help improve our carbon offset.
In early 2021 we were able to establish our very own grove! A space for all the trees that we plant to grow and flourish together. Our grove is called the Wee Wedding Grove and you can visit all the trees within our grove here.

Other steps we take
In our mission to become eco friendly wedding photographers, we are doing everything we can to be as eco friendly as possible. We are unfortunately unable to cut back on vehicle emissions when travelling to weddings, but we have taken steps in other areas of our business.
We’re not perfect, and wedding photography will always involve some travel, but we do try to make sensible choices where we can.
Most of our process is paperless, from booking forms and contracts to planning calls, emails and galleries. We work from a home-based office, use rechargeable batteries in our photography kit, and try to keep packaging and printed extras to a minimum.
Where we do use physical products, we aim to choose UK-based suppliers, recyclable materials and locally sourced packaging wherever possible. We also bulk buy when it makes sense, helping to reduce unnecessary deliveries.
None of this is groundbreaking, and we’re definitely not claiming to be the greenest people in the wedding industry. They’re just small, practical choices that feel better than doing nothing.
